• The amount of data transfer, or data usage amount WIFI network in the last 2 weeks,
• The amount of data transmission, or data usage volume mobile in the last 2 weeks.
This data is read by your device and automatically summarized and sent in the background.
The following data is recorded and automatically sent to the server every day in the background:
• Daily app usage,
o Categories,
o App names. Only the apps that belong to your system device,
o Date,
o Timestamp,
o Duration of use,
o WIFI network data usage volume,
o Mobile data usage volume,
o Network type,
• Battery status,
• Battery capacity,
• Battery voltage, battery action.
No personal data will be collected. You and your data will be used as a pseudonymous unique identifier. Furthermore, this information does not contain any details that allow identification of the individual user.

§ 7 Categories of data processed
Digital carbon footprint is calculated from the data. The digital behavior is analyzed and from this the results are sent to server daily. The data are:
• The calculated carbon footprint,
• An average of daily calculated carbon footprint,
• The calculated energy consumed,
• An average of daily calculated consumed energy.
Purpose of data processing and consequences of failure to provide personal data
• Participation and handling of the research project
Within the scope of the master thesis, the reduction of the individual digital carbon footprint is investigated. This includes data and information within questionnaires, apps and internet and mobile data as well as calculations and perceptions are required for the implementation of the research project "Development of a persuasive system to support behavioral changes regarding the digital CO₂ footprint", without this information participation in the research project is not possible. There will be no disadvantages in case of non-participation.
• With appropriate consent: Email address to receive information about future, thematically similar research projects (hereinafter: invitations). Anonymized registration in the app is possible.
• With appropriate consent: Calculation results and analysis, as well as usage times for scientific publications.
• With appropriate consent: Calculation results and analysis, as well as usage times in teaching (including seminars, lectures, etc.) at the University of Rostock.
• With appropriate consent: Provision of research data to third parties for non-commercial research projects and teaching purposes in the field of persuasive systems (so-called repository).
In the event that individual or several of the above (additional) consents are not granted, no disadvantages will arise.

§ 8 Legal basis
1. implementation of the research project
Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e in conjunction with Art. 6 para. 3 Data Protection Regulation (DS- GVO) in conjunction with § 13 DSG M-V Data Protection Act for the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (State Data Protection Act - DSG M-V).
2. in the event of consent to further optional uses
Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DS-GVO

Analysis
• All research data in the context of a repository: internally at the university, the office providing the repository, and worldwide users of the online repository, provided you have consented to this.
In the above constellations, on the one hand, data from which information on the generated digital carbon footprint emerges is processed and, on the other hand, it may also be processed in countries that do not have a level of data protection comparable to that of the EU. Under certain circumstances, there may be a high risk to your rights and freedoms.
• Calculation results and analysis in the context of teaching: Participants in courses at the University of Rostock, if you have consented to this.
In addition, in accordance with archival regulations, documents must be offered to the University Archives before they are deleted. The latter decides on the takeover of documents.

§ 10 Duration of storage
• All research data will be retained for one year after project completion.
• An exception to this is your e-mail address if you have consented to receive information on thematically similar research projects in the future. Deletion will then take place in the event of revocation or if an e-mail is permanently undeliverable.
If applicable, the documents are taken over by the responsible university archive and are usually kept there indefinitely.

§ 11 Your rights
• You have the right to obtain information from the University of Rostock about the data stored about you and/or to have incorrectly stored data corrected.
